Excuse me!  “I was 4 secs a lap slower last night than 2 seasons ago - so I think they must have lengthened the circuit a bit...”

Drivers' comments

I must say that it took a while for this place to grow on me but I then quite enjoyed qualifying/hot-lapping.

Not convinced that the scenery makes up for the fact that it is a dire place to race.

With the Vanwall only having four gears I hardly ever have one for a quick start and so lost out at the beginning.

I passed Simon after a few laps and then spent a further few laps trying to judge how far either of two Mercs might bounce off the straw bales and if there might be enough room for me if they did.

I got the answer a little later when one of them was taking up a good deal of the last chicane. He did a reset but I threaded my way back through the bales. This let Pedro past me.

My car was now bent but I carried on as I figured a new one would be a lot heavier.

And so it finished.

I think that I prefer Pro races where crashed cars stay crashed.

Congrats to Bastian, Yannick and Paul.

We are in the middle of a flat renovation. That rewrites my plans easily... I hope you had a great fun.

Jani Posta 03/23/2018 07:26:08

Where were you Jani?

Clive Loynes 03/23/2018 00:42:02

You guys are right about that. If you thought Monaco was bad... ^_^

Yannick Verheijen 03/22/2018 15:03:15

LOL It's an exercise in “extreme brake management“!

Finishing without a reset could put you on the podium!

Clive Loynes 03/22/2018 11:18:45

Yep. I'll try to be there - as a mobile chichane :D

Jani Posta 03/22/2018 09:47:06

This one is going to be tough!
