Drivers' comments

Oh dear! Another twenty second lead squandered.

I made a good start from pole and beat Sergio and Quico to T1. After the chasing pack did their best to self destruct, I just had Sergio for company. I was just begining to edge away when Sergio's engine blew, leaving me all alone.

Being alone proved fatal as with around six laps to go I suffered brain fade and lost a wheel at Canal Curve. For some unknown reason I had changed up an extra gear along Valentine's Way but didn't remember to change down an extra gear at corner entry. It didn't turn in and I clouted the fence.

By this time there were only three of us still running and so I at least claimed the points for third.

Monza 10K is the next and final round. Not sure how that's going to go in the Connaught.
