Gabor Olah won Silverstone race of GroundMOD season | Nov 17, 2011
Starting from position 2 on the grid, Gabor Olah's Lotus 33 crossed the line ahead of Attilio Artiglietti's Ferrari 512 to take the win. Anders Ostlund rounded out the top three in a Brabham BT11, while fastest race lap was set by Anders Ostlund also.
Expect lap record holder Gabor to join the event.
Silverstone in the 65s is something like Albi in the 65s - don't miss the fun! :)
I'll be there!
According to the qualifying results I expected a good dice in the race between Andy, Magnus and me. Start went well and Magnus was out of the picture early, and so the front runners. So the foreseen fight was up to Andy and me. It lasted for a good half of the race with lots of position changes. Finally Andy lost out and I grabbed fourth sweet fourth.
Grats to the front runners, you posted alien times! Thanks all for coming.
Two races to go and the championship battle is firing high between Anders and Attilio. I can't wait for the next race.
Great race, these 65's are really fun.
Attilio and Gabor was a little bit quicker from the start and opened up a small gap down to me. They had a three second lead when Attilio went off at Abbey and Gabor got disturbed and lost his momentum.
Overtook Attilio and was close behind Gabor.
His Lotus was faster on the straights so I couldn't get close enough to challenge him.
On lap sixteen my rear stepped out in Stowe and I made a 360 in front of Attilio.
We touched slightly, I beleive that we both survided it without any damages. Lost ten seconds on that spin, and that was the distance up to the winner when the chequered flag was waved.
Grats Gabor to the victory and Attilio for second.
Edit. Got the fastest racelap and it showed to be a top ten on the rank with the Bt11 :D
Report from the Murasama Scrapyard Team:
At Monza I got 3 laps before spinning out. Yesterday I got 10 laps. Obviously an amazing 333% improvement.
Have to take the Lotus at Watkins Glen now. Got absolutely nothing to lose.
I had a dream last night - I was back at the Glen, like in them old days when everything worked, like the time when I could have sworn I heard Ronnie Peterson talking to me through the great endless time and space continuum, this bittersweet symphony of life.
Ronnie kept shouting in my ear while I was driving, things like “DON'T lift off there... jeez, you're driving like my 100-year-old aunt... keep it down, it will stick!“
...and somehow that made the difference between yet another inconsistent 7th and bringing home a fluke double. I still don't know how that happened.
My friends. I had a dream. I had a dream that one day every Honda shall manage 25,000 rpm and be faster than the Lotus 49. I had a dream that every hill and mountain were evened out (with the notable exception of Eau Rouge), that the rough car eating hedge at Monza was made plain and full of little pink flowers, that the crooked Monaco chicane was made straight, that the full glory of Mr Murasama was revealed, and all real groundhogs had subterranean tunnels built for them underneath the track surface in Montreal.
A great calm has descended upon me. Free at last... I am free at last. In all seriousness, the next race at Watkins Glen could be like the second coming of Schumacher*** in F1.

Great report Magnus :D
The race was quite nice. Qualy was average, and my start one of the best ever. Sid was in my mirrors and he tried to pass me.He was very close when I saw him spinning in Abbey. Finally some air I thought, but some laps later I blew my engine. Sid passed me again but he hit Magnus. I was with Sid again, as we aproached Maggots. I had more speed there so we went side by side there. Sid outbraked me at Beckets and I screwed up the corner, so Sid was away again. After that, it was quite a lonely race.
Magnus: I still don't have an email from you, my email is email@example.com
Thanks Marco, email on the way, probably tonight or Saturday.
so sorry I missed this one, I love the 65 cars on a fast track. Had a thing at my kids school that I had to attend. Hopefully I will be there next week for the 67s, but it is Thanksgiving in America (lots of family and food), so I might not make that one either....;(
What race was on!!! One of the biggest victory was in yesterday. Perhaps you have never worked with such a victory, because the opponents were faster than me and did not rest a minute left :) How far out is the fact it was shown that compared to my last race here, now I finish a half minutes earlier :) By the end of the sweating completely. :)
Attilio, Anders, thanks for the race! Opponents are fantastic! Come another time, I'm sure that many big tournaments could be together ;) I only do that if all the all the 1965 races will be there.
