Jani Posta won Zandvoort race of Festival Events | Jun 21, 2012
Starting from position 2 on the grid, Jani Posta's Matra MS7 crossed the line ahead of John Manvell's McLaren M4A to take the win. Mark Barresi rounded out the top three in a Brabham BT23, while fastest race lap was set by Jani Posta also.
Please tell me if you'd prefer a 1967 F1 race instead of a 1967 F2.
67F2 would be nice, but I'll just as happily do 67F1

I vote F2 as its been an extreme amount of time since I last raced but now I have my wheel again so I hope to join in ... assumin my interent connection is not massively warping :D
Warping or not, it's great you are back! :)
cheers Jani, its good to be on track again. Lovin' the F2's with a wheel but shocked I'm not much slower with a joypad, lol ;)
F2 for me, killer cars!

Sweden were brilliant last night?
OK, we stick to the original plan - F2.
Thanks Jani, all ok now, i can access without problem.
I and my brother Mark will participate at this evening race, see you on track.
Hi Alex, please ask your brother to send me a mail, or send me your brother's name and mail address. I must insert him into the database.
Jani, i try to send you an email, but your address is not achievable.
My brother is Mark Barresi, i dont remember his correct email but this is not a problem: this afternoon we go in meeting by skype (we live in different cities) and i can send him all necessary data to access at this site, if you want proceed with registration.
See on track this evening.
Hi guys, i'm happy to announce my participation to race this night.. see you on track... by
Couldn't participate due to the pedals not working. After stripping down the damn things it turned out to be a corrupt controls.cfg file in my F2 drivers profile. A quick copy and paste from one of the other ones cured it.
Bad luck again.. :(
First of all: sorry for the tight grid. Please next time remind me in the igor chat to check the grid. :S
I had a few test laps earlier but nothing serious, so this was the first time to race the F2-Zandy combo.
The qual was exciting. I started on race fuel and my pace was promising. Unfortunately I could not deliver the green sectors in one lap after changing to low fuel. But improved a bit and first row was still okay.
Due to the tight grid my start was overcautious, but by the contact of Alex and Natan in T1 I could turn in as clean 2nd.
In the next 17-18 laps I drove behind Mark. Once I could pass him in the straight but that not lasted too long. Anyway it was an entertaining duel until I spun and lost 8-10 seconds to him...
I kept pushing and in the penultimate lap I could harvest my fruit: Mark got back in sight (with cold tires and full tank as I learned later). So with a fastest lap I was on a mission for a last lap pass. Which turned to be a lucky one as Mark finally spun at the exit of the hairpin.
I really enjoyed the race. And it was good to see new names and comebacks :)
It was good to race again after so many years but the time away really showed in my pace.
Thought I was doing well to not qualify last but it didn't seem to matter after a T1 collision & the 'rods spitting out of the engine exiting the hairpin which put me plumb last.
Spent the whole race trying to hang on to AndyL but a spin put paid to that until late in the race when he had obviously done the same & we were once again in sight of each other.
Managed to get close to my pb but you guys were seriously fast. Will have to look into the reasons for this... other than the obvious ;)
Hope to see you for the next race. Cheers :)
I need to apologize to Mark Barresi, I had a good run on him after his spin and off on the last lap. I thought he was giving me room on the inside, but then he turned in and we bumped. I will make every effort to be more careful in the future, again, my apologies.
John, thanks for your apology, but is not necessary.look the replay I saw that there was actually space to my left so I could go (which I think would have happened in the straight as I had the car heavy after Shift-R cause end petrol).
Jani, great race and great battle.
See you next week at Road Atlanta.

Went quite bad, so I decided to quit.
Rule #3: Never give up! :)
I decided to quit too after I spun out of Hondenvlak which I normally never do...and I drove crappy laps so revanche at Assen!
student rule #1: if what you're doing now doesn't work out, you can actually study too. So that's what I did

Great fun! Thanks for racing and hosting!
Just made it on time.........
No training, no setup, no talent ;)
But the F2's are a pleasure to drive, even with a crappy setup.
