Mark Barresi won Rouen race of Groundhog Season | Oct 18, 2012
Starting from position 1 on the grid, Mark Barresi's Ferrari 312 crossed the line ahead of Jani Posta's Lotus 49 to take the win. Alex Barresi rounded out the top three in a Brabham BT24, while fastest race lap was set by Jani Posta also.
No Lotus and Brabham for Mark.
No Eagle for Gabor.
Should be able to join :)
CYA in Rouen hopefully
Sid, your 300th (registered) GBGPL/Groundhog race is awaiting for you! :)
I know Jani, but unfortunately on Thursday evening 100 miles will be between me and my computer :( I'll be back in time for Mosport though.
What car, guys?
As I just got back the Ferrari, I think I will use it. Or maybe the Lotus. Any other has only 5% chance.
Cooper for me, as getting usual :)
Pedro van den Berg
I go with the “Bird“ this time.
Oeps another no practise ;)
Nice race, sadly couldn't finish.
Approaching the usual hairpin into last laps had to brake a little bit harder to avoid the risk to run wide onto an eagle, and due to the fact I'm always quite over the edge there I lost it finally ending jammed into the damned white tyres :)
Race over, nothing to blame to the eagle driver though, just bad luck to have met him right on the worst place and my lack of cooliness ;)
Grats to the podium, thanks to fellow racers and to the organization for the fun
CYAll next one hopefully
I had a superb qual, achieved a new PB and was happy with P2 on the grid. In fear of an engine failure I had a cautious start which let Lorenzo through. I still got P3 - and Alex in my back. But I could manage his pressure and after two warm up laps I started to push harder. While the two in front started to fight each other and lost a few tenths here and there. Lorenzo took the lead but later he failed on the exit to the back straight. Both Mark and I passed him, and I started to put pressure on Mark. I had a few chances for a pass but I was not confident enough and waited for a better opportunity. Which did not come... Mark's exit onto the back straight was always perfect what I could hardly match in the Lotus. With 4-5 laps to go I even had a mistake which let Lorenzo too close to me. But in the next lap I could put down a qualy lap and was clear from the Super Cooper. Last laps were about finding my fat luck and jump over Mark. In the end I had to accept 2nd.
Congrats to the winner and all finishers!
Marco de Vries
Lorenzo: that Eagle was me. I tried to stay out of the way and drove into the graas, because that's the worst point for a collision!
All I wanted was a 1:59:XX but it was not meant to be. With 0 practice, I had a nice run in the old bath-tub. I had one spin and I think I hit Andrew (sorry) but just continued to push along.
Looked like a great battle up front. Sorry to see Lorenzo get stuck after another brilliant run in the Coop. I'm off on business but will be back for the Glen in the old Fez. Cheers. Grats all. Will
As already said, nothing to blame, Marco, just bad luck plus my fault in getting too scared ;)
@ William: thank you, I had to come too close to my limit in order to keep the pace of the frontrunners, and I'm afraid I couldn't have them passed, no longer at least, so far in the race, only shame for the podium placement gone :)
CY in Monza hopefully

Grats Mark, Jani and Alex.
In the beginning I could follow the leaders ;)
Ones I could pass Alex, but then all went wrong.
Not sure what happend, the brakes and steering were slow, and the harddisk was spinning like hell.
After that it was a lonly drive home.
Cu next time!
