Mark Barresi won Laguna Seca 1967 “Valentine's Trophy race” race of Groundhog F2 season | Feb 14, 2013
Starting from position 1 on the grid, Mark Barresi's Brabham BT23 crossed the line ahead of Roberto Teso's Brabham BT23 to take the win. Natan Veksler rounded out the top three in a McLaren M4A, while fastest race lap was set by Mark Barresi also.
2nd round of the season.
No Lotus 48 for Maarten.
Jani, this led to nothing, he has the wr here with Matra MS5, surely a lot slower than Lotus 48, I think that the only way to slow down Marteen is to break all his legs…
You are right, but rules are rules. :D
“Lotus 48 time 1:09.716“
Groundhog best so far is 1:07.733 from Maarten in a Matra MS5.

This was a devils dilemma for me!
I had the choise of driving great “Laguna“ in great F2 or racing for the 1e time at Jarama in F2 with GPLRacers thursday.
Sorry guys, cu next time, have fun!
If the laptop survives, and the Brabham, I'll see you tomorrow
From now and until the end of season, Mark is the Lagoon Monster in this champ.
After a new PB in quali, i start race calm and follow Jani after he overtake me in 2nd lap.
Accident between Roo and Jani give me 4th place, but in next lap i spun during braking at corkscrew and return 6th.
Race go without problems until lap 24, when i forgot to brake at T1 and go parking my 166 over a tree (reset needed).
Final result is not relevant, i drove badly in this race: i was inconsistent despite a good car in my hands and a track that i like.
See you at Brands.
My grid spot was something I deserved. Yet again there were no further trainings since my Saturday morning session.
The start went well, and the esses were also clean. I sat on Alex gearbox and waited for the opportunity to pass him. It happened as early as lap 2. Then I followed Natan and Roo, and was trying to close the gap to them. My attempt was so successful that I closed it to zero -- as I hit Roo in the Corkscrew... Sorry mate!
After this accident our trio (Alex, Roo, I) swapped positions a few times. It felt like a gambling and finally I could finish ahead. So 4 points, which is great for a race where I deserved no better than 6...
Yet another great driver from Mark. Congrats on your hat-trick!
Thanks all for coming. See you all next week!
Thanks Jani and all. Laguna is one of my favorite tracks, here I raced many races and I have a super setup.
See you next week.
I qualified better than I expected, getting close to my pb.
I was following Natan for the opening laps & holding ground with Jani catching until our incident at the corkscrew where I also nudge Natan (sorry).
After that I was racing with Jani, trying to keep a gap but made a couple of errors & lost alot of ground. Pretty disappointing race from my point of view but thanks to all for the racing. Hopefully Brands will be better.
Not a bad race for me, I'm not trained with F2 but, as many others, I have lapped a lot here almost from IndyCar Racing era, so I feel as I'm at home.
I chose to use not my fastest setup but a reliable one, I'm sure that I can't beat Mark here, so I've to aim at the best I can do, succeding.
Grats to Mark, for his extraordinary hat trick and a prayer, please put your timings in GPLRank!
Thanks to Jani, for his as usual delicious courtesy and hospitality and to all drivers and their spouses and girls for their patience with us all.
