Lars Mossberg won Zandvoort race of Groundhog 1967 season | Sep 12, 2013
Starting from position 1 on the grid, Lars Mossberg's Cooper T81B crossed the line ahead of James Marchyshyn's Lotus 49 to take the win. Jani Posta rounded out the top three in a Cooper T81B, while fastest race lap was set by James Marchyshyn also.
Round 2 of the season. As a winner of Kyalami race I have to avoid the BRM... :(
Please vote if you could participate in the race.
A lap around the track:
Here we are, on the grid...
Full throttle on the main straight. This is Jim Clark's 1964 Lotus!
Through the Tarzanbocht
...and past Gerlach into the Hugenholtzbocht
and out towards Hunserug
Through Jan de Wijker zijn Veld, currently Rob Slotemakerbocht...
Coming over the top of the dune, downwards..
and out towards the Mastersbocht, where the Marlborobocht and before that Hondenvlak used to be
From here we pass through Tunnel Oost and Bos In, this is the current track, in the former infield section...
But on paddock 3 we suddenly come across Bos Uit!
Pictures taken last august 31 by Marco...

Pedro van den Berg
Nice Arjen, thanks for posting!
it will be brm, cooper or honda for me, if I make it :)
poor Jani, no brm :(
nice pix lads :)
I decided for Cooper.
I love the pictures
Cooper 1:26.39 at the moment.
Then come visit next year :) Historic Grand Prix Zandvoort is each year
Man i would love too but living in the United States and going over to europe to visit all the famous road circuits that europe has to offer would be a dream.
Convince the wife it doesn't rain all summer long here and I guess it's fine
What time starts the server
8pm UK / 9pm European Time. See Rules page for other details ;)
Cooper 1:26.24 for today. Still 3 tenths from my 2010 PB..
Just did a 1:26.16 in a lotus during training. Hopefully translates to a good qualy/race tomorrow.
happy with that :)
hope to see you tomorrow
Ca´n I join in and run the race of the evening. is it 60 fps? Which server you are running on? When do you usually start the server. I want to test and see if everything works.
60fps! As James and Beno had problems connecting the server last week I will host a training session from 8:30 (European time). Qualifying will start at 9pm. Look for J.Posta server on iGOR.
All written on Rules page. Please read through!
It was a fun race. I had a hard time keeping up konsentrationen. I had problems with a fly flew in front of the monitor. It's very annoying when people leave the server. It jerks when someone leaves.
Thanks for a fine event.
Good race Lars, you were untouchable today at zandvoort. It was great racing with everybody and looking forward to racing at spa with you guys next week.
I had a fantastic qual, a new PB in my last lap - just before I ran out of fuel. Unfortunately I missed the pole by 2 hundred of a second. Though P2 was still okay.
But not my start. Lars got a better off from the grid, and James and Roo were also all over me. Lars had a one second lag which distracted me so much that I misjudged the brake distance to T1 on cold tires... I went wide and stopped on the grass. The whole field passed me, even Roo on the outside.
The chase started. Roo and me gained positions and were in P5 and 6 quite soon. I was a bit faster than Roo, but the Honda power helped him to stay ahead in the main straight.
After a few laps I made a mistake and a 3-4s gap opened between us. Later Roo had his moment too and I could pass the stationary Honda.
Then I overtook Gabor who just entered the pits. (DirtGearPatch, Gabor?)
The second half of the race was about to catch Andy. It was not an easy task as my driving was far from perfect and made a few errors here and there. For the first time when I caught him at the end of the main straight I went off in T1 and had to start the chase again...
In the last lap I was all over him, but it was too late. I was sure I could not pass him anywere else but the main straight, but never before the finish line... But I kept pushing him and that payed off as he went off in Schevlak.
So finally after a really hard race it was a lucky third for me.
Gongrats to Lars on his maiden win and James on the podium finish. Great debut, well done guys!
Thanks all for coming!
Tough race for me. Happy enough with 4th on grid & got away ok but got a wheel on grass into T1 & ended up off track & at the back of the field... again!
Had some great laps with Jani & then with Gabor but I was cooking my left front tyre which was strange as testing hadn't shown that. It turns out I had suspension damage from my T1 off.
5th was about as good as it was going to get.
Hope to see you at Spa :)
I agree it's annoying when people leave before the finish, but it's even more annoying that as soon as the green flag dropped I developed the mother of all migraine headaches and was left with only peripheral vision and had to go.
Was the first time I have ever done something like this with Grand Prix Legends. So my only goal of the race was to finish and not hit anybody and I would consider that a success. A good strong qualifying session left me in 3rd place entering the race. Now before the race started my heart was beating just nervous on trying to get a good get off the grid. Headed into the first turn and some drivers with off so I was able to slip by to 2nd place before the end of the first turn. And the first few laps I was having the car going all over the place because of my nerves. After the first few laps I started getting into a grove and started reeling off consistent lap times. And I was trying to eat into the lead and was unsuccessful until the final few laps. After the conclusion of the final lap I finished .9 secs behind the leader. So my first podium on my first try. It was a lot of fun racing and I am looking forward to SPA next week. Have a good weekend everybody.
