can someone email me the server replay for this race?
my zip was corrupted :(
thnx :)

Roo Mellor 11/08/2013 15:49:35

Big thanks guys, see you all next race!

Gabor Olah 10/29/2013 10:44:25

It's a shame this race didn't get a better rating. It's one of my favorite tracks but I didn't list it as such because I didn't want to embarrass myself on a track I called a favorite.

I'm also glad I didn't cause anybody any problems like I did at Watkins Glen. I tried to cause problems for Gabor by constantly staying within striking distance. Hopefully by the next time we get to the Nurburgring I can get a good feel for 60fps. It wasn't until the last lap I started to calm down. I was starting to get in the groove from Bergwerk to the Karussell.

Thanks everybody for letting me join the fun! I'm looking forward to the next 67 F1 season.

Gregory Taber 10/25/2013 19:34:54

Congratulation Gabor. Hope that a new league starts soon.Fun to drive with you. Has been improved to run GPL again.
THX to Jani Posta.

Lars Mossberg 10/25/2013 15:49:15

First of all congrats. to Gabor, a well deserved championship. Umm... tough race, but a really tough track to drive. Took the cooper and qualy didnt' go my way with 2 bad laps, and the one I did complete with no mistakes was not quick enough. Rolled off 5th and actually got off the line well for the first time in weeks. Took it easy through the first few turns and was then hit from behind by the honda. It was a racing incident and thats the way things go sometimes. I pulled up a little early to the corner to avoid hitting jani in the ferrari. So thats racing. Ummm then tried to catch up passed a few cars and made my way back up to fifth after the incident 3 laps later. Then rode by myself for the rest of the race. Was a long tough race but was loads of fun driving the track. Well would like to thank you guys it was good racing with you guys this season and cant wait for the nextt season. Can't wait to try the 65 cars and the f2 cars as I dont have a lot of time in the seats of those cars.

James Marchyshyn 10/25/2013 01:26:25

Congratulations Gabor! You are a tough champion. You sure earned this victory. I didn't make it easy.

I had a good time. I practiced starts through the week, trying to make sure I could make a clean start. I got into turn one without drama and from there were off. Johnny made a nice pass on me at Holchelchen. I got a little lucky I didn't hit him when I hit the throttle. Car got a little sideways moving me closer to him. Then, I got a real break when Johnny's engine blew on the fast section after Flugplatz. I almost got into the hedges twice a turn or two after Kallenhard. I really got close at Antoniusbuche one time and another time I had to slow drastically because I knew the entrance was all wrong.

I put some pressure on Gabor but couldn't keep it together when I needed to. I caught him at Bergwerk when he must have made some mistake. It was a good opportunity but the last thing I wanted to do was collide. I caught him again at Flanzgarten but I got off line on the jump and almost lost it. Car felt funny for a little while after that. I sure was glad a short time later the car appeared to be undamaged. I was hauling ass on the last lap and ran Gabor down again coming to the Karussell. I got a little too high and the car spun. So that ruined the last chance I had to try to pass Gabor on the long straight.

It's funny how something so nerve wracking can be so much fun. My right leg didn't quit shaking until the second lap of the race!

Gregory Taber 10/24/2013 23:31:17

Congrats to the champion! A well deserved title.

Well, it was one of my worst races, ever. Qualy was okay. My best lap during training (yesterday) was 8:20, so 8:16 was even great. But I felt I should change 3rd gear a bit, and I duly did. Unfortunately it was a set too short. I just realized it at the end of the 1st sector in the race. Went off and ended in the fence with a damaged car... I had to let lots of cars by before I could hit reset...
I tried to get used to the wrong gearing and to put one or two good laps together (my third lap was quite good), but finally it was a disaster with 6 or 7 resets overall, which must be a personal record...
Anyway it's still a great track, I love Nurby :)

Thanks all for coming, for the whole season. It turned to be a classic. After the MOD season we will repeat this Papy+67 combo :)

Enrique, thanks for joining us.

See you all next week.

Jani Posta 10/24/2013 23:00:36

managed a few laps before the race to re-aquaint myself with the green hell.

Haven't watched replay yet but I think it was me that caused the chaos on L1, just a little too late on breaks with cold tyres & nerfed James (? cooper) which seemed to have a knock on effect. Sorry to you all :(

After that I was running ok until I got discoed... again :(

new chassis pb in quali so can't be too down about tonight.

Grats Gabor & all other finishers.

Roo Mellor 10/24/2013 22:51:45

Nice to see so many drivers at the start :)
Grats Gabor, race and championship!
Sorry Johnny for holding you up, bud thats so simple here.
To bad for the opening craches.
Great work Andrew! I would not withstand the pressure for so long!

Thanks Jani!!!

Pedro van den Berg 10/24/2013 22:43:15

Roo Mellor 10/23/2013 23:30:17

I give it a go with the Eagle.

Pedro van den Berg 10/23/2013 21:43:21

I think i'm going Cooper for this race. 5 laps is gonna be a long race, looking forward to it.

James Marchyshyn 10/23/2013 00:36:57

I like the update and will have to find some new reference points especially braking into T1.
Fog is going a bit too far Jani :) and the dark asphalt bits were not good for me as I couldn't see the edge of the track, but there's a patch for that :-

Andrew Livingston 10/22/2013 19:28:03

Your choice James, it's only a graphic change.

You might want to spice it up with the GPL Fog utility :)

Love the track update. Question our we using the track update nurburgring or are we using the old version that came with the original copy of grand prix legends nurburgring.

James Marchyshyn 10/22/2013 17:30:34

Nice trackupdate, now it takes even more time around when you have to see Everything :)

Lars Mossberg 10/21/2013 19:29:32

Ouch.. Too bad you will miss season finale.

First I though you wrote “in character“ :)

Jani Posta 10/21/2013 19:16:09

Lars Mossberg 10/21/2013 19:06:08

Now that's what I call a graphic update :D

Unfortunately it changes all my reference points, so I save it only for videos...

Anyway, before anything else backup your original /tracks/nurburg folder.

Jani and Roo can't win the league due to having to drop scores.
If Johnny and Lars finished equal 1st and then I finished 4th with Gabor 5th and James 6th then we would all finish on 20 points.
I think Gabor is a good bet with his Nurby pb under 8 minutes and only having to beat James and me and 5th,
I see he's not the only sub 8 minute ringmaster here - should be a great scrap for the podium places.

I'm taking the BRM.

Andrew Livingston 10/18/2013 20:57:00

1 Andrew Livingston

2 James Marchyshyn

3 Gabor Olah

4 Jani Post

5 Johnny Ackerman

6 Lars Mossberg

7 Roo Mellor

All these drivers can still win the league, exciting

Lars Mossberg 10/18/2013 19:50:36
