Track: Crystal Palace Mod: 1965 FPS: 60 Number of racers: 6
Gregory Taber won Crystal Palace “Trick-or-Treat Trophy race” race of GroundMOD #3 season | Oct 31, 2013
Starting from position 1 on the grid, Gregory Taber's Ferrari 512 crossed the line ahead of Jani Posta's BRM P261 to take the win. James Marchyshyn rounded out the top three in a BRM P261, while fastest race lap was set by Gregory Taber also.
Free choice for everyone all season. No restriction to the winners.
GPL 1965 Mod Installer 2.0.2
This installer basically installs a complete GPL 1965 F1 Mod Version 2.0.2. To allow a one-click installation this installer is a merged installation of the original GPL 1965 F1 Mod Version 2.0.1, the high res version of the Lotus 33 and the later published Version 2.0.2. Additional the recommended steering wheel fix from MECH is included as well. You will find the 65mod raised add-on from MECH in the repository\GPL65\MECH folder as well as an option in the “Select Components”. You have the choice to select the original, full installation, a customized, a historic ride height or a historic ride height with 2D helmets. There’s still some interesting debate as to the ride height of the original mod or the changed one from MECH is the right one. Due to the zillion options I’ll leave that to you and so I have limited the options to basically 2 when you want to use the ride height fix from MECH.

I'm always gonna say not sure. I can't predict what may need to be done in the near future, but it's likely I'll be in the races.
This is going to be a tough season for me. It's unfamiliar cars on unfamiliar tracks although I have driven Syracuse, Hockenheim, and Laguna Seca a fair bit.
I installed 65_Mod_v2.0.1.exe on my computer. Will that get me in the races? I try to limit what I install. I'm short on disk space and like to keep my computer as light and fast as possible, like my cars. The real fancy graphics aren't a great concern to me. I'm too busy watching where I'm going to notice much of what's off track.
I still need to do a bunch of tests to try to get rid of the stutters. I noticed watching the Nurburgring replay that everytime someone resets I get a good stutter. Does that happen to everybody else? The stutters were most prevalent coming out of the Sudskurve before and after the pit board shows.

I can't join cause i don't qualify to participate? Don't understand hehe!
That was fun! I drove the car pretty hard trying to get enough of a lead that a spin or blown engine wouldn't lose me a position. Luckily I didn't make any bad mistakes and the ones I did make were few. I guess I got lucky that I didn't have to deal with Johnny.
It's a shame Gabor dropped out after he spun. That took the heat off me.
This week is the first time I drove the 65 cars to amount to anything. Took me all week to develop a good setup.
I'm still get some bad stuttering but it's getting better. Hopefully I can get this computer tuned up well so I can keep trying to keep up with Johnny and Gabor.
Thanks everybody for letting me join in the fun!
First race ever with the '65 cars. Umm still learning them as they drive different from the '67 cars. Qualified 2nd and that was the fastest gone all week of training. However though bad start off the line. Lost spots to Gabor and Jani. After gaining momentum back followed jani for the next several laps. Then Gabor had a problem and tried to pass him in the last turn but I think I cut him off so sorry about that if I did. Made contact and spun. After regaining control made it through the next few corners then all of a sudden Gabor spun and coming around the corner I had no idea where he was and bam hit him hard. That was a huge hit but no big deal that's racing. So after that was all about survival as I made my way back up to 3rd, but Gregory was quick like sebastian vettel quick and he put me a lap down. Finished 3rd so a podium. Will try to make the next race as I have had problems trying to download the track.
No problem man. Things happen that's racing.
A nice little track which has some tricky points. 39 laps are simply too much to master. My main fear was touching the wall in T2. Finally I could avoid the contact there, but met the concrete in the esses in the last sector. First time in lap 20. That contact changed my steering center by a few degrees. I hesitated to reset or not, but one of my main aims was to finish the race with one car, so I decided to live with such a small problem. The second time I hit the wall was in the closing laps, but luckily that made the car any worse, so I could finish without a reset. I could even set a new PB in the penultimate lap :)
I had a lonely race most of the laps. From the deserved P4 having James ahead on the grid I had an average start. I had a good run till T1 and could sneak past him in the first corners. Greg and Gabor faded in the distance ahead really soon, so I could concentrate on James in my mirrors. Without any serious mistakes I could hold him behind. Then we met Gabor in the last sector esses accelerating from a spin or a reset. I could pass him running to the last turn. Then he had a moment with James and I was suddenly alone. From that point my aim was to keep the car together and finish on lead lap - maybe with a new PB.
I could achive both so it was a happy podium finish. :)
Congrats to Greg on his maiden victory! + It was great to see Rich back in the league.
I'm still not sure why Johnny and Maarten could not join the server last night. I'm sorry guys. I hope Jarama won't be a problem.
After searching through SRMZ.net for “track is not installed“ error message I found the info that Crystal Palace lines in your season.ini might be corrupt or simply different(?) from the server's (mine).
I have these lines:
name=BUA Int. Trophy Meeting
It was a clean install for me. No flag and date lines which is put by GEM if you add the track to a season via GEM. I'm still not sure. I can't see why it should not work for you.
Last time we saw connection problems it rooted in my IP. That's why I changed IP last night before the test.
Jani, I've had to connect to the server directly from GPL instead of double clicking the race in IGOR for the last two races. When I do that it says “connecting“ and then nothing happens and I have to hit the reset button on the computer because it locks up the computer completely.
I've had to get the ip address from the server details listed in IGOR, then close IGOR, start GPL, and then manually enter the ip address in GPL and everything works fine then.
That's no problem to me but I mentioned it so others can do the same if they have trouble. I'll paste the second paragraph on the upcoming races.
“Gregory was quick like sebastian vettel quick“
It's more like Micheal Schumacher 2002 quick. We're approximately the same age and we use the same make of car but it's nice to be compared to somebody as successful as Vettel.
Take care, James. I hope you make it to Jarama.
haha very good. It was a quick ferrari that was rocketing around crystal palace. Take care and see you on the track soon!!!
