Track: Donington Park Mod: 1965 FPS: 60 Number of racers: 11
Gabor Olah won Donington Park race of GroundMOD #3 season | Nov 14, 2013
Starting from position 2 on the grid, Gabor Olah's Lotus 33 crossed the line ahead of Dean Logan's Lotus 33 to take the win. Pedro van den Berg rounded out the top three in a Lotus 33, while fastest race lap was set by Gabor Olah also.
There are several updates for the track. The bollards must be installed by everyone.
If you want to use my retro look graphics (http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=3311), install Gabo's post.3do file (http://freeleo.hu/weekly/download/misc/doningtn_post.3do.zip)
If you stick to default graphics or use other graphics, install Lou's bollard files (http://freeleo.hu/weekly/download/misc/donington_update.zip)
Lotus for me.
Glad to see you'll be back. I missed you.
I'll probably drive the Ferrari or BRM. Whichever car I'm more consistent.
Unfortunately Gabor ignores the F2 mod... We will see him only on 65 races in this season.
just done a few laps in bt7. love this track<7car combo :)
going to try to join thursday...
I've had to get the ip address from the server details listed in IGOR, then close IGOR, start GPL, and then manually enter the ip address in GPL and everything works fine then.
That's no problem to me but I mentioned it so others can do the same if they have trouble.
I also found that I had indexing service turned off on C:\ , that was causing me problems with other servers. That was giving me the track not installed error.
Jani's server also gives me a ping of 9999 in iGOR or no value at all. That's the clue I've used to know I need connect through GEM and GPL multiplayer screen skipping iGOR completely.
I hope this may help some in the future.
Can some one put up a test server before starting so I can try to log in and see that everything is working right.
Lars, if it's okay for you I could start a session tomorrow at 9pm CET.
If you do a test session tomorrow i'm in!!!
Yes Jani :)

“but it was fun while it lasted“
It that's right ;)
Results updated. I inserted Roo into his real finishing position.
Not a perfect event for me, but finishing on lead lap with a car which I started the race with, it's absolutely okay.
My qual time could have been better but 13.4 was not that bad, and P8 of 11 was still acceptable. But I got Roo ahead in the sixth spot and he was lagging quite heavily, completely disappeared when the starter raised the flag. I was not really sure if he disconnected or not, so I did an extra cautious start. That resulted a sad loss of three places and by reaching T1 I was last…
Martin and Enrique had an accident right in T1 and I could not avoid the spinning Ferrari. Luckily it was only a rather small contact and I could continue without a reset.
Meanwhile Roo reappeared, this time in my mirrors. We had a nice little fight which was a bit scary as he kept lagging here and there. After a few laps I was left alone with Pedro in sight. Sometimes it seemed that I could keep the pace with him but those laps must have been my best laps while he had his worst ones.
In the last part of the race James emerged from behind and started to close the gap fast. He gained 1 sec per lap on me and it seemed that I would loose P4 just before the finish...
While I was thinking about this I missed the brake point to the chicane and lost 3 secs… But luck was on my side as James had problems in that lap too and he lost 5-7 secs too. The difference (and the fact that Gabor lapped James) just helped me to escape and finish P4.
Congrats to Gabor and all finishers. I'm sorry that Lars, Greg and Johnny were forced to give up :(
Please rate your race!
Fastest lap I did all week was in qualifying which surprised me a bit. Umm.. actually for the first time in awhile had a good start off the line and advanced from my starting position of 4th to 3rd. Then in the corner leading to the backstretch was hit from behind and had to wait until the track was clear to to a shift+r to resume the race. That's racing and it wasn't intentional at all. So after that was just trying to play catch up with the field, had a great battle with enrique for almost 10 laps. It was just hard to find a place to complete the pass. Then after that was trying to chase down Jani the rest of the race and was gaining on him about a sec. a lap. Then I lost the car in the chicane and lost about 5 seconds. So tried to gain it back but it was not to be. Finished 5th but was really fun to drive that track, congrats. to Gabor and see you guys hopefully at Laguna Seca!!!
Excellent drive Gabor! Not only very fast but very consistent.
I didn't learn much this week other than, it's sucks to be disconnected.
My sentiment's the same as Lars' “it was fun while it lasted“
I was just getting comfortable when I disconnected. I was ready for a long struggle to try to get by Dean if that's what it was going to take. I had nothing for Lars or Gabor but I was in good position to have another nice race and possible podium.
That was a good job not hitting me Pedro. I'm slow into the turns and somewhat fast out of them. I can't really use the brakes and gas at the same time. It's so unnatural to me, so I tend to brake earlier than a lot of other drivers.
I was pleased I made it through the early laps without an incident. I tried to be careful and tried to give everybody room. That put me on a terrible line early in the first lap but I was successful in avoiding a collision. I was pleased about that.
I hope I can make it through the entire race in the future.
Take care everybody and thanks for the fun!
Pedro van den Berg
Great track to drive and race :)
Took me some (race) laps to learn it.
Lucky to be 3e because of bad luck from faster guys.
Thans Jani for hosting.
Cu next time
