Robert Fleurke won Indianapolis MS “Indy 50 - Fun Race” race of Festival Events | May 01, 2014
Starting from position 2 on the grid, Robert Fleurke's Lotus 49 crossed the line ahead of Arturo Pereira's Eagle T1G to take the win. Michi Kovacs rounded out the top three in a Eagle T1G, while fastest race lap was set by Robert Fleurke also.
Please note we race on IMS version.

53.8 so far, after about 5 laps.
Indy 1999. Can only test a bit wednesday night and thursday. First having a 65 Ring race...have a 52.6s standing with Eagle for ovalrank...
won't make this one. next one though :)

Nice improvement to 53.29 today!
Will try to do this one, my favorite race course I visit every year on Memorial day weekend for the Indy 500. This place is special to me each time I visit. So hoping to be able to join you guys thursday.
52.52s so far in Lotus, but burning my right tires still. Will be tough to do 50 laps without spinning out due to that. Need to manage the tiretemps and prolly take it easy...
Haven't found a good racesetup yet...
Have uploaded my Lotus setups. With racesetup you really need to drive smooth and not pushing, in order to manage the right tiretemps.
Best lap in quali trim 52.37s, in racetrim mostly 53ish laps in order to manage the tires, but capable of 52s as well...
Thanks! Will give it a try this evening :)
Wont be able to make it, getting new cable and internet installed. Look forward to the start of a new season next thursday

Ah, well. My gearbox was made out of sugar again. I never had problems with my engine on IMS, but 3 failures in 4 laps is just too much...
Wonderful race. Not a single problem to mention.
Congratulations to Robert for his great win and to Michi for the pódium!
Thanks to Jani for hosting this nice event. :)
Not sure how I conspired to miss this one, I came on igor at 8:30pm but didn't see a server - perhaps I needed to scroll down and didn't realise - but a race at Indy sounds fun! I would have had to strap in some of Rob's setups and put the track on the 64 track ini too. Hope you had a nice race :) Indy 500 in the flesh sounds amazing!
Was fun racing this track. Racesetup was very consistant. Arturo had a problem at the start, and that way I could manage the gap when he got back up to 2nd.
Indy has always been good to me, with Indy500, ICR2 and NASCAR sims. And now with GPL :)
Thanks for racing and well done Arturo and Michi, and finishers :)
Wow very close between Rob and Arturo! If close from the start it could be a race-long slipstreaming battle!
I tend to be at the back of the field on ovals. With Robert's setup now I was rather average or even better. After a safe start I could keep the pace with leaders, passed Marco and was ready for chasing Michi. All seemd okay. But my good feelings lasted only 19 laps when I finished the engine... A few laps later I hit the wall and had to stop to reset my steering... Then another engine failure.. And another error from me. Quite bad, isn't it? :D But once a year an oval race is still fun. Would have been better with bigger field. Congrats to the winner and all finishers. See you guys next week!
I noticed you used 4th gear Jani, might have caused the engine to overheat!? Used only 5th in quali and race, apart from start.
Should have mentioned it before prolly...
Yeah I tried to take turns in fifth but just did not work for me. Maybe I should have practice for the event :) Next time :)
I think IMS/indy99 is converted from NASCAR Racing 3, I've won online league races with that, NR3 was my first experience online late 1999.
With Indy95 (from IndyCar Racing 2/CART Racing 2) I won at offline league IIRS back in 98/99. You had to race AI (mostly tweaked by me, was admin as well) and submit screenshots for your racetime and such.
With NR2003 I was particularly competative and have won Indy races at national and international levels, and 2nd in BCS ESCORS with cracks like Richard Towler and Volker Hackmann.
Fun to see Indy still alive with GPL, and again to win with Indy with GPL is a neat feat having done that before with other sims :)
Cheers Jani, great track choices as always :)
PS: just had my final major appointment at the dentist. OK, have to go monday morning again, but only for checking ;) From now on no more pain(ful) treatments anymore, after a difficult month :)
Had a good start, surprised myself that I was second by the time I got to T1.
Tried to stay in the draft but Robert was to good of the corners. Arturo caught me and after exchanging places a couple of times went after Robert. Leaving me to run around alone.
