James Marchyshyn won Zandvoort “Weather Patch race” race of Groundhog 1965 season | May 15, 2014
Starting from position 3 on the grid, James Marchyshyn's Lotus 33 crossed the line ahead of Pedro van den Berg's Lotus 33 to take the win. Robert Fleurke rounded out the top three in a Brabham BT7, while fastest race lap was set by Iestyn Davies.
This event will be run with the Weather patch. See related topic.

despite the read me saying put the file in each mod option, I put it in the gpl secrets option folder and it works for all mods and looks pretty good.
does the pits and weather patch work at the same time?
Yes, I forgot to say. Thanks for mentioning it. :)
I'm not sure if Pitstop patch works with this, but I will give it a try, and Lee said on SRMZ that a new Pitstop patch is in beta state. I'm quite sure that that will work with Weather patch.
it does, and prib, and altogether its really something.

My plan is:
(Road Atlanta: Brabham BT11)
Norisring: Brabham BT7
Not sure yet, tried today weather patch, didn't see nothing with the mist lol.
Also the local FC is playing a play-off final, not 100% sure if I can make this race...
OK, will take the BT7, never drove it. Only started with 65 mod last winter. In extreme conditions it's hard to stay on track, easy to miss corners. I hope it's moderately wet with not too much mist. Finishing in one piece would already be great...but who knows and maybe it will be the greatest race ever lol!
Good choice! “Let's go racing boys!“ :)
in heavy rain: about 1:35
in light rain: about 1:31-1:32
did a few laps at low level and got the 7 around in 1:34.
prob find a second or so with some prac. on high level its impossable.
I did about 1m33ish in moderate wet, and 1m37ish in extreme wet, in the BT7. Will be very hard especially in extreme condiditons, as you can't see the track sometimes.
Should have chosen a faster chassis I think to threaten Gabor. But maybe we have some hidden rainmeisters here :P
OK, just installed the patch.. will look for what cars I have a setup for or see if I can get some more off the track DB.
sry guys really could not do it.
Black screen in the lap 19.

Had a poor start and had to slot in behind James. Tried all I could, but wasn't able to pass James. Outbraked myself taking the lead for a tenth or so, and later once again braked too late and locked up the wheels going off, and Gabor did the same I think...
Then had to settle for 3rd with a bent suspension.
Great stuff, very good James to withstand the pressure, and well deserved after Gabor's bad luck. Also good job Pedro, who went faster the longer the race...
Very fun, this weather patch and certainly repeatable :)
only 2 positives:
I managed to stay on the lead lap (just) & I broke into the 1:33's.
Maybe some practice would have helped?
Re-rated the race 5/5, after watching replay, that was a lot of fun! James has nerves of steel, and drove very consistent and smart. Great job bud! :)
What a race!
I had an okay lap in qual, started last (sorry for the extra-tight grid...) and tried to stay close to the group ahead. But at the end of lap 2 I followed Pedro onto the grass and I had a miserable time till everything was straight again. By then I was left alone in the cold foggy dunes...
Next lap I passed Roo who must have had a problem as I did not really see him.
Anyway the rest of the race (24 laps) was spent alone but I can't say it was ever boring. In fact it was scary :) The fog was so thick that it tricked my eyes a few times - I visioned white flags, stationary cars... :D
Apart from my short visits to the grass it was quite a steady race.
Congrats to James, podium and all finishers!
Have to say, that was a very interesting race! Had a big smile on my face as Pedro drove off into the foggy distance :)
Lowered PSI by one click, two for front left after a run offline. Needed one more lap in Q to get higher up the grid..
I was pushing too hard after lap 3 to try and go faster, as Jani saw.. so I managed high 33s early on, only to drop back with overheating fronts, and it was tough to race alone.
But, once I started driving much smoother.. suddenly the fronts cooled to the right temps, and all the pace came roaring back!
I ran a high 32, losing some time from the gearbox spiking into neutral, but by then I was 20 seconds back... on the last lap, I was pushing for a mid-32 and spun.
Congrats to the front, looks like a good battle was had! This will be great fun at Norisring.. saw a wet F3 race there once on TV that had some current F1 drivers racing.
Pedro van den Berg
Grats James, a deserved win!
Zandvoort .......... go with the flow
and your tires stay cool.
Puch abit and red they go.
Sorry Jani for leading you into the grass ;)
Great race, lots of minor errors wich let to fun racing.
Lucky to get the 2e place.
Thanks for racing and hosting.
Cu next time, greetings Pedro.
A wonderful race. The grip levels were changing all over the track at any given point. Qualified 3rd which was the best lap I had did all week. However the race was a different story. Got one of my better starts in recent races and was able to gain a position around Robert off the line and heading into turn 1. The grip level was then different to me from qualifying to the race. I found myself fighting my car too much, and wasn't able to pull out lap times I thought I could pull off.
With Gabor pulling away Robert was on my gearbox. It seemed his car was better into the corner and the middle, while my car was able to get a better exit to keep him behind me. Robert tried some great passing moves on me, but was unable to make the pass on me because if he did Robert would have taken off. While running 2nd, Gabor had a spin/problem heading over the bridge and was able to take the lead with about 7 laps to go.
Then it was all about hitting my marks and making sure to not overdrive the car, and was very fortunate to win this race. The weather patch was a hell of a way to do the race as that was one of the hardest races I have ever driven.
Will miss the next 2 races, due to more training with my new job, but will be back when we race at the Daytona Infield Road Course (Rolex 24 hours of Daytona). Great race guys.
