Robert Fleurke won Norisring “Weather Patch race” race of Groundhog 1965 season | May 29, 2014
Starting from position 1 on the grid, Robert Fleurke's Cooper T77 crossed the line ahead of Jani Posta's BRM P261 to take the win. Pedro van den Berg rounded out the top three in a Lotus 33, while fastest race lap was set by Robert Fleurke also.
This event will be run with the weather patch. Please be sure you have the patch installed and applied in GEM before you start iGOR or GPL. See related topic.
Download Weather patch from http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=9961
As I recall there's something wrong with the installer. If the track fails to load, check your tracks/norisrng/ folder. If you don't have norisrng.dat file just a dat, rename the file to norisrng.dat. If you don't have anything there copy all files from the installer folder to tracks/norisrng/ + rename the dat file to norisrng.dat

Will take the Cooper here in order to have better chassis' on dry tracks. Did ran a few laps, but really hard to see where I am going here with a thick mist. At a track like Zandvoort you follow the line/flow, but here it's so wide it's really hard to see when to brake or when to turn in...
No criticism, just difficult so far, prolly will get better with more laps ;)
Some pointers, 57ish in moderate/litte rain, 58ish in more extreme/misty conditions...
Like at Zandy, I'm burning my front tires with this patch, and it's slippery and easy to spin out. Need to tweak the setup a bit for some more stability and traction...
edit: have uploaded my testing setup so far. found some better traction and stability through lower tirepressures and other gearings. I'm using 2nd for hairpin and 3rd for chicane and last turn to straight, for Cooper T77.

About for me too :)
Sadly I could not run a single lap yet. This will be interesting... And three laps down I suppose... Will drive a BRM.
same boat here Jani. bt7 for me
Good race for me and happy with my first win this season. Really like this weather patch. Too bad guys like James and Iestyn weren't present.
Seemed to have a good setup and approach with the Cooper, using higher gears in slower turns in order to prevent too much wheelspin. Had a reasonable start from Pole, even with too much wheelspin. When Jani got up to P2, it looked like he had at least the same pace as me, but sadly he went in reverse at the hairpin. Then it was just keeping focus, and set my fastest lap in the last lap ;)
Well done Jani and Pedro who seemed to have a great race between them, and thanks Roo for room. Shame for Gabor's bad luck. Thanks for racing and see you at 'tona. :)
Weather patch is great fun. :)
Despite my mistake which costed me a good chance for fighting the lead it was a perfect event.
I have driven on this track a few times but never with the weather patch and in a 1965 car. I used my Zandvoort setup, changed only its asymmetry, and it fitted well.
I had a decent qual lap and a good overall race pace. After my mistake in T1 I was dropped behind Gabor and Pedro. Yet again we got too close with Pedro, luckily no cars were damaged in the process. Gabor could open a gap but was out in a few laps with a broke down engine and I was left with Pedro to decide who would finish 2nd and 3rd. This meant pretty fun racing. Thanks buddy! :)
Congrats to Robert! A nice hat-trick! :)
Thanks all for coming.
Grabbed a setup from GPLTD & tried to tweak it to my liking during quali. It was quite a handful!
I didn't qualify last, managed a 58sec lap & despite finishing last I record my best finish of the season mainly due to not getting disco'd ;)
To be honest I don't notice much difference in terms of grip with this patch as there's never any grip in GPL! But laptimes show that there is a vast difference :D
Nice to get fog without having to edit ini files though.
Grats Robert & the rest of the podium.
Grat Robert, nice win!
Pedro van den Berg
Grats Robert!! great win again.
Lovely fights with Gabor and Jani, thanks guys great fun :)
Thanks for hosting and racing.
Cu all next time.
