Robert Fleurke won Sodegaura Forest “Semi-Reversed Grid race” race of Festival Events | Jul 09, 2015
Starting from position 1 on the grid, Robert Fleurke's Cooper T84 crossed the line ahead of Jani Posta's Matra MS7 to take the win. Michi Kovacs rounded out the top three in a Matra MS7, while fastest race lap was set by Robert Fleurke also.
I'd need the track anyone got it? The ATDB link is down or my Japanese is failing me.
Somehow I thought this track longer and wider. While CA cars are okay for a hotlap, 65/F2 cars might fit better for a race.
Found it, it hasn't got the full name in the filename. That's why my initial search didn't find it.
Here is the file
Hmm, could it be a different name of the track? Sodegaura?
Edit: Got it wrong myself :P
I'm okay with running the CA. Event page says F2s now, what is the latest situation?
Or we run CA and F2s. The laptimes are short enough if we run the scheduled 13
One race only. Let's decide the mod in the chat room before the event.
Thursday evening is a bit late IMO. I'd like at least a day to practice.
OK. F2 then.
Still having issues with this newer system, but will try to race. Very tight/slow track, with tightening turns. However it has a nice flow to it if you get the lines right.
Screen freeze with 1 min to go in Q, just finishing my first decent lap, couldn't get back in time.
I'm sorry Iestyn, it was great fun.
My first race with a Logitech G2* wheel for years. (I used to have a G25 for a few weeks years ago, and now I got a G27.) I might have been a bit faster with the old Momo, but it was still okay.
The track has a few tricky parts, it was a fine challenge and huge fun in these cars. With a bit more life around the track and a more retro look it would be a classic venue.
Congrats to the winner, thanks for the race guys.
Shame about Iestyn's problem, and my own sound problem...still messing around with all sorts of drivers and soundcards...I suspect the crackling causes the mini-freezes.
However it was fun, especially the first half ;)
While it took about 5 turns I managed to get past Jani at the start. Tried to open a gap, while he was occupied with Robert, but Rob soon passed Jani and was on my tail.
Went wide on the exit of T1 which set me back 2 places, gained one again when Jani went for an inspection of the gravel outside of T4.
Tried to chase down Robert after that but he proved too quick for me. Finally I looped it coming out of the hairpin and fell behind Jani again. Without enough time left I finished last.
